St Joseph’s two Young Enterprise teams recently participated in the Reading Area Showcase Final event. They arrived early, set up their trade stands and completed a few dry runs of the formal presentation.
First came the interview stage of the event. Bamboozled faced the judges first and were able to answer challenging questions about the collective experiences of the Young Enterprise journey process, sustainable credentials of their products, lessons learnt and what they would do differently next time.
ToDyeFor went next and were equally impressive in the professional way they addressed the questions of both panels of judges. It was then a nervous wait while the other student companies went through the interview stage, before the highlight of the evening: the formal presentations.
This time it was ToDyeFor who went first and spoke with clarity and confidence about their Young Enterprise journey. The four directors did themselves and their team proud in front of a large and diverse audience composed of other competition entrants, judges, business advisors, Young Enterprise staff and parents.
Bamboozled were similarly impressive with a confident and well-paced presentation. The judges took over half an hour to deliberate and then the prizes were presented.
Bamboozled win “Best Business Plan” Award
All teams were given a certificate of engagement, and Bamboozled took the Reading Area ‘Best Business Plan’ Award. It was a really successful experience for all students involved and they will take key life skills into their Year 13 studies and beyond.
Well done to everyone who took part!
