Last week, our PE Department hosted an insightful virtual Scholars’ talk, inviting Steve Williams OBE to share his experience of climbing Mount Everest with parents, staff and pupils.
The double Olympic champion climbed the highest peak on Earth following his retirement from rowing. Steve showed us amazing pictures from his expedition and shared his physical and mental feats of endurance. In questions, he revealed further details such as how he had trained for the climb, what he ate on his return and how he could use a toilet on the mountain!
