When I graduated from university with a BA Hons in Anthropology and Philosophy, I had a desire to work with young people, considering courses in Youth Work and Social Care. Eventually, I returned to university to undertake a PGCE and began teaching in 2010 in a Catholic comprehensive school for boys in East London as a teacher of Religious Education. I joined St Joseph’s College as Head of Religious Studies in 2014, and shortly after, also took on responsibility for the Upper Seniors as Assistant Head of Section and then Head of Section.
Following the birth of my first child in 2018, I returned to resume the position of Deputy Head Pastoral and Designated Safeguarding Lead. I am passionate in my belief that young people are the future and excellent pastoral care from the beginning of a child’s life journey is essential to their physical and emotional welfare, preparing them for the world after school.
In my spare time, I love to play board games, spend time with my family and socialise. When I have time, it is a treat to pick up some knitting needles or get lost in a good book. I live in Reading with my husband, two children and dog. I feel extremely privileged that two, soon to be three of us are members of the St Joseph’s Community.
