It was a record breaking bonanza at this year’s Sports Day held at Palmer Park, Reading. There was lots of excitement and anticipation as staff and students from Years 3 to 12 headed to the stadium to compete for the title of winning house.
The sun shone, faces beamed and shoes gleamed, ready for action.
Even the occurrence of a mini tornado that swept through the event couldn’t put College pupils off their game, although for a short while, it did mean hanging onto your hat! Luckily it was short lived and competitors were quick to resume their event. Nothing was going to put them off their stride.
Junior and Senior pupils competed extremely hard and it was fantastic to see such talented and determined performances across the year groups. In particular the following pupils broke a school record in their event:
Year 7 – Boys Long Jump Nathan A 3.84m and 150m 21:34
Year 8 – Boys Javelin Ted P 27.01m
Year 8 – Boys 150m Sammy W and Oliver N 20:94
Year 8 – Boys High Jump Max R 1.31m
Year 9 – Boys 800m Lawton B 2:29
Year 9 – Boys 100m Gwan C 11:72
Year 10 – Boys 100m Reuben A 11:23
Year 10 – Boys Relay Dixon 0:52:25 and
Year 12 – Boys Relay Hummel 0:51:8
Well done to all these pupils.
In the overall house competition it was a very close run race as both second and third were within 10 points of the winning total. But there has to be a winner and this year it was……Dixon! Congratulations!
Final Points Scores:
1st Dixon 1362
2nd Jennings 1265
3rd Richardson 1262
4th Hummel 1146
