We were delighted to welcome Year 4 pupils from St Teresa’s Catholic Academy in Wokingham for a visit to a sparkling International Space Station this week. Dr Pellenc, our in-house astronaut, and her team of research scientists invited the children to take ducks on an exploration of the solar system and guess the mass of each planet, attempt to replace a damaged light bulb on the spaceship while wearing astronauts’ gloves, make St Joseph’s key chains with UV beads, and examine pieces of meteorite under the microscope.
The children also built their own rockets from scratch and launched them into the air! Everyone had so much fun.
