On 15 November we were delighted to present our first Music Scholars’ concert.
Eighteen pupils from across Years 7-13 performed a range of captivating pieces, showcasing the talents of all our current Senior Music Scholars.
Some of the pupils presented new pieces they have not performed publicly before, whereas for others, this was a chance for a final performance ahead of forthcoming auditions for music college. The audience enjoyed pieces on an array of instruments including bassoon, clarinet, oboe, piano, violin and voice. The styles and genres were varied and included classical pieces such as Chanson de Nuit, Op.15 by Elgar and a vocal performance of “Popular” from Wicked, the West End Musical.
Thanks to all those who helped to make this such a wonderful evening.
The retiring collection raised just over £140 for the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.
