This term we are excited to share that we will be hosting the second Children’s Climate Summit for Reading schools.
The climate summit arose from an idea that Tamara Hunt at St Edwards Prep School had in 2023, where the children in the schools of Reading could come up with ideas to make a difference and address climate change.
St Edward’s Prep hosted the first summit in March 2023, with the winning pledges being to make a meat-free meal each week and also to reduce the amount of plastic used by 50%.
This year, St Joseph’s College will be hosting the event on 6 March 2024. The day will consist of a sustainability fair, climate discussion and vote, with the finale being the schools climate pledge announcement.
