Aakash is delighted with his results – three A*s in Maths, Economics and Music – and is off to Bath University to study Economics – a four-year course with one year spent on a placement. Aakash joined in Early Years at age 3 and has been here for 15 years! He says he has had ‘loads of opportunities’ and the stand outs have been playing lots of music, including playing saxophone alongside the London Mozart Players. He says the support he has been given over the last two years of Sixth Form, in particular, has been outstanding. Aakash also enjoyed playing rugby, football, cricket and tennis.

Georgia did better than she expected achieving A* in Drama, A in Maths and A in Economics and is off to the University of Warwick to take Acting & Theatre Studies. She is already part of the National Youth Theatre and would like to go into acting in the future. She joined in Year 7 from Polehampton Junior School and has appreciated St Joseph’s for the sense of community and strong friendships. During her time here Georgia was House Captain for Jennings House, played in a band in Year 7 & 8, played cricket and hockey and took part in Choir and Chamber Choir. Being in the production Sister Act inspired her to go for bigger roles and she was blown away to be cast as Sandy in Grease in Year 13.

Xinran joined St Joseph’s for Sixth Form after relocating from Hong Kong. He is extremely happy with his three A*s in Further Maths, Maths and Physics and is heading to University of Edinburgh to study Mathematics. He enjoys STEM subjects and would consider a Masters or PhD in the future. He says he has thoroughly enjoyed his lessons and the style of teaching and has made great friendships since joining the College. His co-curricular activities included badminton and STEM related competitions, such as the UK Mathematics Trust’s Maths Challenges.

Former Head Student Sam S is celebrating an A in Music, B in English Literature and B in History and is heading for University of Exeter to study Politics & International Relations. An accomplished singer, he has a choral scholarship at Exeter. He has found St Joe’s ‘really fulfilling’ and has benefited from ‘countless opportunities’. The Rome choir trip and singing in the Vatican was an amazing experience. He has also played in the football and rugby ‘under lights’ matches, participated in Young Enterprise and has had roles in all the Drama productions during his time here – in Twelfth Night he played Orsino. He says he can’t be more grateful to St Joe’s.
