The Art Department was delighted to acquire a brand-new etching press which will allow staff to introduce students to new practices and ways of making art.
Our GCSE students were the first to get to grips with it, but other year groups, including our A Level students, have also been busy using it to create new etchings, embossed works and started to make lino and woodcut prints to aid their upcoming mock exams before the end of term.
Year 9 have been working on lino cut plans to create a large-scale collaborative work as well as smaller individual works. This new piece of equipment will allow our students to experience working with industry professional equipment as well as developing work to a high standard.
A special thanks goes to Mrs Stotesbury and the Parents’ Association for their aid in gaining such an amazing piece of equipment.
