Year 7 pupils were challenged to take part in the British Library’s ‘Step Inside Your Story’ project, which asked them to create a concertina book with themselves at the centre. The book could introduce them and give details about their lives, likes and dislikes, or it could put them at the centre of a story they made up themselves. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the British Library have been running a number of projects like this, encouraging children to explore storytelling and their own creativity. Year 7 were given free rein to create whatever story they liked; most students created a book introducing themselves, some sent themselves far away, including a trip to Mars, whilst others created diaries of their recent experiences.
Here are just a few examples of their fantastic work. Well done Year 7!
