Appointment of new Head of Prep
The Headmaster is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mark Bushby as Head of Prep from January 2018. Mr Bushby joined St Joseph’s College in September 2015 when he was appointed to the role of Deputy Head Pastoral, and he will continue in this role until his successor is appointed.
Mr Bushby has a BMus degree from Trinity College of Music, London and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the Institute of Education, London. He commenced his teaching career in London, working in a number of primary and secondary schools including Notting Hill & Ealing High School and St Benedict’s School, Ealing before moving to Queen Anne’s School, Caversham.
Many Prep children will already know Mr Bushby as he rehearses and conducts the Prep Chamber Choir, and parents who have attended a music concert in the last couple of years will know the high standard he has obtained with the choir.
Mr Bushby said “The Prep School has an excellent level of pastoral care and support for all of the pupils, which is infectious as soon as you enter the door. I am looking forward to leading the Prep School to continue its journey of developing the academic, spiritual and co-curricular provision.”
In confirming his appointment, Chris Murray, Chair of Governors commented, “The Board is very grateful for the excellent work that Mr Bushby has done within the Senior School and has no doubt that he will make a positive impact in the Prep School in continuing to advance its educational remit whilst at the same time ensuring the ethos is maintained.”
