Year 9 admissions

Year 9 admissions

A limited number of places are available in Year 9 for boys and girls from independent schools and maintained (state) schools. Entry is dependent on passing the entrance assessment and a satisfactory report from the applicant’s current school.

An entrance assessment for Year 9 is held in January for entry the following September, for all registered pupils. This consists of an English Comprehension and Essay, Mathematics questions and a Verbal Reasoning Test.

Registrations are now open for 2019/20 for Year 7 and Year 9. Our closing date for both registrations and bursary applications for this year group is Tuesday 4 December, and our entrance assessment will be held on Friday 4 January 2019.

The Headmaster is happy to meet applicants before they take the entrance assessment. This can be arranged by signing up for one of our Open Days or by contacting the admissions department by email or on 0118 984 6909.

St Joseph's is a caring school full of education and a variety of activities. I enjoy being at this school because the teachers and staff are so welcoming and make the lessons fun.
