Early Years admissions
The key point of entry into St Joseph’s College Prep School is Early Years, where we welcome children from the term in which they turn three. More information about Early Years can be found here.
A visit to one of our Open Days is the best way to find out more about Early Years at the school, and is recommended for all parents of children aged four and under. Dates and more information are available here. For parents of two year olds we also offer Stay and Play sessions for you and your child.
The next step is registration to confirm your interest. There is a fee (currently £50) that accompanies this process which is non-returnable. Places in Early Years are offered, subject to availability, on a first come first served basis and taking into account our admissions criteria. There is high demand for places in Early Years and you are advised to register early if you are interested.
Once registered, your child will be invited into school for a half day visit. During this time an assessment will take place appropriate to the age of the child.More information about the assessment can be found here.
Places in Early Years are offered for children to join from the beginning of the half term in which they turn three, subject to an individual assessment.
The minimum weekly attendance for children in Early Years 1 is two full school days (8.20am to 3.20pm) or three mornings (8.20am to 1.00pm). This rises to a minimum of three full school days or five mornings in Early Years 2.
