We encourage all pupils to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These are designed to challenge them, so they will grow in confidence and discover new possibilities. Extra-curricular activities are an important part of life at St Joseph’s, with clubs and activities operating each day.
Pupils can enjoy activities including performing arts, sports, outdoor, academic and cultural activities. Extra-curricular activities are offered according to the season and the age of pupils.
St Joseph's runs music groups such as orchestra, folk band, wind band, brass band and several choirs. Sporting activities include athletics, football, rugby, trampolining, tennis, swimming and basketball. In addition, there are drama and public speaking groups, and clubs for languages, science, study skills, chess and more. Pupils are encouraged to nominate new clubs and activities, and have the opportunity to help lead clubs and activities for younger pupils.
The St Joseph's Award and Diploma acknowledge and reward pupils for being involved in all aspects of school life.
