Drama

Drama

St Joseph’s is proud of its excellent reputation as a centre for the Dramatic Arts, and has its own drama studio and theatre.

Drama is taught as part of the main curriculum from the Prep School upwards, and is also offered as an extra-curricular activity.

Pupils of all ages are involved in drama productions. Early Years and Prep pupils entertain audiences with their annual Christmas productions, and higher up the school there are opportunities to get involved in productions including musicals, classics, and even foreign language plays.

Students can also learn the ropes backstage, in lighting, set design and production management for example.

Pupils also enjoy a range of theatre visits that support and enhance their classroom learning, and they regularly participate in festivals and competitions such as the Woodley Festival of Arts.

St Joseph’s is also a centre for LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations, with pupils entered for a range of disciplines.

My child loves the interaction with the older and younger pupils. The school excels at creating a 'family' like atmosphere which is something very special and hard to attain
